Shah Faisal Masjid:
                    Faisal Masjid is the third largest masjid in the world and the largest masjid of Pakistan located on the foothills of Margalla Hills in Islamabad. This masjid features a design consisting of eight sides of concrete shell and it is like a tent with a glittering moon at its top. Construction of the masjid  began in 1976 after a generous grant of $120 million from Saudi King Shah Faisal whose name the masjid bears.

Situation:

              This great masjid is situated on the north most end of the Islamabad on an elevated area near Margalla Hills. The background of this beautiful masjid increase its heart touching view. It seems that the masjid is like a full moon in the darken night.


                    

Entrance:
            At the entrance of masjid there is a small courtyard containing a small water pond with fountains inside it. There are many Qurani scripts inside the main hall, along with a big PHANOUS made of gold. A library is  also located within the masjid for the book lovers. There is a water pond with fountains at the front side of the building.



Design:

     The design of this gorgeous masjid was mad by Turkish architect VEDAT DALOKAY. The design made by Vedat reflected modern architecture design along with basic Islamic principles of architecture. The main hall of the masjid seems like an ARAB bedouin’s desert tent. This is the main reason of the popularity of this masjid, Additionally, the addition of 4 minarets of height 90 meters each increases its heart touching design on all four corners of the main hall.
